Process Engineer (Process Development)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Process Engineer within the Process Development Group is tasked with supporting new process development and manufacturing methods to improve thin-film solar cell performance and reliability. Candidates will develop, execute and complete projects involving experimentation on development tools and on production deposition systems.  This includes rigorous statistical analysis of experiments as well as evaluation of historical datasets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop process conditions to achieve optimal device performance of thin-film photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules.
  • Design, execute and supervise experiments on development tools and on production sputter deposition equipment.
  • Generate and evaluate film and device data from deliberate process variation experiments and a wide range of historic data. Summarize and present new learning.
  • Identify opportunities for device and materials performance improvements, for better process control and for more efficient experimentation through novel methods. Transfer lab scale ideas into manufacturing following a formal development and qualification process.
  • Support manufacturing engineering and technical teams in the areas of film deposition, solar cell characterization and quantification of cell and module efficiency detractors. Develop, write and review procedures and response flows.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:    

  • Experience in photovoltaic (PV) development, thin film process development, or manufacturing process development environments
  • Experience with thin film deposition and characterization methods and with PV device metrology and characterization methods is required. Experience with solar cell device modeling and with optical modeling is a plus.
  • Experience with working safely in a lab environment, including wet chemistry
  • Fluency in the MS Office suite and in statistical analysis using tools such as JMP is required. Prior use and understanding of design of experiments methods (DOE) is a plus.
  • Programming experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems through a combination of structured experimentation and detailed characterization following root cause methodologies
  • Positive interpersonal skills, energetic and self-motivated
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to meet commitments and deliver results in a timely manner

EDUCATION:

  • Required is a Ph.D. or M.S. in Material Science, Physics, EE, Chemical Engineering or a closely related field. A candidate with an M.S. needs at least 2 years of relevant work experience after the degree.

The Supply Chain Manager – Strategic Sourcing is responsible for driving strategic sourcing initiatives across the enterprise. Strong knowledge of supply chain concepts from manufacturing through site installation is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for establishing equipment procurement plan, establishing supplier relationships and executing procurement and installation plan
  • Responsible for creating and managing strategic sourcing processes and executing equipment strategies and supply agreements that deliver cost effective solutions

Associate Purchasing /Supply Chain Manager

Associate Purchasing/Supply Chain Manager

ABOUT THE JOB:

The APSCM is responsible for independently managing supply chain projects, driving collaboration across the organization and with customers, to reach solutions for internal and customer related requests. APSCM requires strong understanding and experience with ERP and inventory management. APSCM will use systems and reports to understand key issues and identify best in class solutions for internal and customer projects.  Collaboration and cooperation with all Departments and Customers is essential to ensure assignments are completed successfully and meeting customer expectations on time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate with suppliers for any special product, QA and shipment requirement
  • Manage China sites’ order returns
  • Assist Shipping department and Sales department to ensure all operations are smooth and effective
  • Respond to different oversea sites’ inquiries regarding contract, documents, product, quality, etc.
  • Partner with Logistic and warehouse team to manage all direct material shipments to different oversea sites
  • Working with operation staff to ensure raw material arrival schedules
  • Provide customer service support with order confirmations, product availability, problem resolution, product expertise, order tracking, back orders, and warranty information
  • Expediting orders and coordinating with logistics suppliers for delivery of direct material orders
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with management, Customers, team members and other groups.
  • Gather and review data to evaluate accuracy and processes to confirm best approach is in practice.
  • Plan, organize and coordinate purchasing activities to support oversea sites’ spare parts requirement
  • Update and maintain open order report for different oversea sites

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:    

  • 4 to 5 years of hands on supply chain and/or purchasing related experience
  • Must be punctual and completely dependable

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Seeking a Manufacturing Technician for our source material manufacturing team.
  • This position generally involves processing production material and performing maintenance on the production equipment.
  • This position will have a variety of tasks at a number of material processing stations.
  • The successful candidate should be willing and able to perform many different types of tasks and work effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow existing procedures to operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
  • Follow production recipes and keeping detailed production records using paper and electronic forms
  • Work with process engineers to plan and execute manufacturing and experimental runs
  • Responsibility for maintaining manufacturing and measurement equipment, including routine cleaning troubleshooting, and replacing parts
  • Appropriate handling of waste and scrap materials
  • Appropriate handling of manufacturing materials including tracking of materials in MES (software system) and Microsoft Excel
  • Responsibility for quality checking of finished product

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:    

  • 1-4 years’ experience in a high tech manufacturing role (e.g. semiconductor, solar, medical device, electronics, aerospace)

Responsibilities:

  • Design, development and implementation of high volume manufacturing systems that includes robotics, pneumatics, drive systems, process control systems, heat transfer, vibration control, vision systems, fixturing, and motion control systems.
  • Leadership role within engineering team on projects holding to a strict and highly competitive schedule

Manager, Mechanical Engineering - Localization

Manager, Mechanical Engineering – Localization

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineering Manager will focus on the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) for MiaSolé’s high vacuum equipment (roll-to-roll processing), supporting localization and continuing capacity expansion in China, as well as providing engineering support for future MiaSolé Hi-Tech turn-key deliveries.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage our Mechanical Engineering team responsible for the specification, design, and development of roll-to-roll processing equipment and sub-systems for localization and capacity expansion in China.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement of mechanical systems.
  • Develop and document detailed mechanical designs, including assembly instructions and bills of materials.
  • Manage/coordinate third party contract manufacturing for components/sub-assemblies.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar; MS preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience in a similar role, similar industry
  • 7+ years of mechanical vacuum experience

Skill Requirements:

  • Experience in mechanical vacuum systems and vacuum deposition technologies
  • Familiarity with applicable design standards including ANSI and others
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solidworks CAD tools
  • MUST have excellent written and verbal communication in both English and Mandarin
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability and willingness to work hands-on
