Timed with Solar Power International,MiaSolé (Santa Clara, California, U.S.) on September 12th, 2016 announced a new sales channel partnership withInovateus Solar LLC, a solar development, design, construction and supply company based in South Bend, Indiana, to distribute MiaSolé’s new line of next-generation, ultra-lightweight flexible solar photovoltaic (PV) panels.

This strategic sales partnership will help MiaSolé expand the market penetration of flexible solar into new markets, new applications, and new locations on and off the grid, to make it increasingly possible to overcome obstacles to solar adoption and put solar power generation anywhere the sun shines, reads the press release.

New high-efficiency, flexible solar PV panels

The sales channel partnership is coupled with other news that MiaSolé announced at SPI: the availability of its next-generation flexible Ultra-Light Solar Technology Products.

MiaSolé’s new line of flexible solar products represents a significant generational shift compared to previous versions of thin-film, flexible technology.

The new MiaSolé flexible solar panels are highly efficient (up to 17% efficiency; 2x more efficient than previous flexible thin-film models), thin (only 2.5 mm), highly wind resistant and shatterproof, and ultra-lightweight (less than 0.5 lb per square foot, or 4x lighter than previous flexible solar modules).

The ultra-lightweight form of MiaSolé’s new flexible solar product makes it possible to open up new applications for solar.

In addition, MiaSolé’s new flexible solar product adheres to surfaces with a simple peel-and-stick attachment method, which reduces labor costs and enables more widespread, adaptable installations of the flexible solar modules.

“Since our company’s inception, we have been strong supporters of flexible thin-film photovoltaic technology. We believe that the high-efficiency, ultra-lightweight technology that MiaSolé is advancing will continue to fulfill a need in the solar marketplace,” said TJ Kanczuzewski, president of Inovateus.
