Today marks the final day of the 2016 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, held this year in the Los Angeles Convention Center. Thousands of eco-conscious architects, engineers, builders, and manufacturers descended upon the city for educational seminars, networking, product research, and the reaffirmation that the AEC industry has a critical role in achieving a sustainable future. This also marks the last conference during which U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC’s) founding chair Rick Fedrizzi reigns as CEO; in his Greenbuild journal, he writes that he is most proud that “this organization I helped create has come to be as diverse, all-welcoming and all-encompassing as any organization on the face of this planet.” Other moments from Greenbuild: the celebration of USGBC’s Leadership Awards, and the launch of“arc,” a new technology organization to help buildings measure performance, which will be headed by outgoing chief product officer Scot Horst. Also Aloe Blacc headlined the Greenbuild Celebration. [USGBC Press]
