Santa Clara, CA October 19, 2015 – Fotopoulos Building Industries, Inc. (FBI), a woman-owned family business with an extensive background in commercial roofing and solar sales, and MiaSolé have entered into a Sales Representative Agreement. Fotopoulos Building Industries will sell MiaSolé FLEX modules throughout the state of Nevada and Southern California.

Fotopoulos Building Industries has a sophisticated lead tracking service that continually offers opportunities to their roofing contractor customers. Fotopoulos hosts architectural box lunch presentations that are a successful tool to help keep the design community current on the latest roofing trends, products, and codes. Fotopoulos also offers building owners a service that will address roofing problems and provide solutions in both materials and professional help in resolving and restoring their facility back to a watertight, safe, and energy efficient condition.

Fotopoulos will sell MiaSolé FLEX modules, the most efficient thin-film lightweight flexible modules on the market today—with an efficiency rating of +16%—generating the most power possible. The FLEX-02 Series module is available in two formats.  The FLEX-02W module is 39.3 inches x 102.3 inches and is rated at 360-watts, and designed for low-slope commercial single-ply roof systems.  The FLEX-02N module is 14.6 inches x 102.3 inches and is rated at 120-watts, and designed specifically for standing-seam metal roofs. Both FLEX-02 Series modules bond to the roof surface with a simple peel-and-stick adhesive. This adhesive approach eliminates the need for racking and reduces labor and logistics cost to provide a 20% lower BOS cost than traditional glass solar systems. The FLEX-02 Series module is IEC 61646 & IEC 61730 and UL 1703 certified.

The FLEX-02 module provides Fotopoulos Building Industry customers significant benefits. The low weight of the module (<0.7 lb/sq ft) allows installation on roofs that cannot support the weight of traditional glass solar panels, and makes them ideal in cases where the weight of winter snow load is a concern. Because the FLEX-02 panels are adhered directly to the roof surface, there are no penetrations, eliminating the worry of leakage and damage to valuable contents within the building.  The FLEX-02 also is aesthetically pleasing, blending into both metal and TPO roofs and preserving the original look of the roof. The low-profile FLEX-02 module provides superior wind resistance and a seismic advantage over traditional rack-and-panel systems where their higher profile increases the likelihood of damage in a hurricane or earthquake.
